Hans Heardtle, CEO & CTO
Hans has over 30 years’ experience in the IT and telecommunications industry. Having built fiber, microwave and satellite infrastructure networks in East Africa for over 15 years under then MSI/Celtel group, which moved later into Sameer ICT and from 2008 into Altech East Africa (included Kenya Data networks, Infocom Uganda and Altech Stream Rwanda). With the acquisition of the East Africa telecoms group from Altech SA by Liquid Telecom in 2013, Hans continued in the role as Liquid Telecom East Africa Group CTO and CEO for the Uganda operation (previously Infocom).
Among other senior management positions held, he previously worked as development engineer for Siemens and IBM in application design and implementation of airline IT systems, and later as Chief Technical Coordinator for Aviation Solutions (Airline IT consultancy arm and then subsidiary of Cathy Pacific/Dragon Air, Hong Kong) in the development and implementation of airline and passenger reservation systems (Galileo / Amadeus) and as Regional Director Network infrastructure Provisioning & Planning at SITA/EQUANT in Asia and various areas of the world.
He holds a PhD in Physics and Mathematics, as well as post university program degrees in Business Management and Finance
Duncan Namuhani, Network Design and Operations Manager
Duncan joined Infocom now Liquid Telecom Uganda in 2004 as a Systems Engineer. Previously he was the IT Manager at the International Medical Group, the largest private health provider in Uganda. He has a wealth of experience having worked in roles that have covered Networks design and operations (covering IP, Optics, Satelite and wireless) Management, and Customer services for over 10 years.
Duncan is married with 4 lovely children.
Joseph Nkangi, Field Operations and Maintenance Manager
Joseph joined Infocom in December 1998, he has served in different roles and now heads the Operations and maintenance function. He previously worked for Reuters E.A Bureau Representative in Uganda.
Joseph holds a BSc and MIT. He is an IT Security enthusiast and maintains industry certifications; CISM, CISA from ISACA.
Barbara Nannono, Sales and Marketing Manager
Barbara has been with Infocom for the last 13 Years. Having graduated with a BA in Sociology and Social Administration.
She joined Infocom starting with a role as Sales Administration Executive and attained a managerial position from the progressive achievements approved by the board. She is currently the Sales and Marketing Manager responsible for business development, growth and retention of the clientele base in the company.
She has been instrumental in execution of major ‘Firsts’ in Uganda’s Internet Service Provision sector including, The First Uganda Hot Spot implementation and the First Fiber Connectivity solutions.
She is interested in networking and activities entailing bringing communities together.
Helen Kampa, Customer Care Manager
Hellen joined Infocom in August 2005. She holds a business degree and a diploma in Management Information Systems.
As Customer Service Manager, she acts as a liaison between customers and Infocom making sure that the lines of communication remain open while building trust and strong long term relationships.
Customer service is an integral part of Infocom’s value proposition. Implemented feedback loops allow us to capture feedback to improve customer service and ensure that quality and service exceed customer expectations.
Salama Semwanga, Human Resource Officer
Salama Semwanga, a Human Resource Management Professional of the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABAM) based in UK, has worked with Infocom since inception and excelled through ranks to the position of Human Resource Officer. With an extensive and proven track record of working closely with business leaders at all levels she has managed to come up with the HR systems and practices that drive performance and business results.
Salama is highly proficient in developing and implementing employee policies and procedures, managing employee relations and performance management and measurement systems
Akram Sekanjako, Finance Manager
Akram Sekanjako joined Infocom in February 2010 as a senior accountant and excelled through the ranks to the position of Finance Manager. He is responsible for the company’s finances. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business administration. He’s currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in accounting and finance at Makerere University.
Prior to joining Infocom Ltd, he was in charge of finances at Scania Motors (U) Ltd and also worked with one of the leading audit firms in East Africa, PKF international for over 5 years.
Akram is a married Man, a Ugandan and lives in Uganda
